The story of this movie quite got a lot from A.I. with some slight differences. A parent, grieving for his son made a replica/robot. Since he's a robot, he can't be loved so he's thrown to the junkyard. Some people find him, was put to a show..etc. where he will be killed but then the people loved him because he's close to a human. Okaaaaay... hahahaha..
I still enjoyed this film. It ALMOST made me cry.

True. AI comes from a story by Philip K Dick, but the late stanley kubrick (who was a big fan of astro boy) wrote the script for A.I

I can see the AI link but for me, I thought this was a cross between Robots, Wall-E and the Incredibles.
