I thought Toby was absorbed by the Peacekeeper robot like Stone was later on in the movie so I was expecting him to appear at the very end. I find it annoying that the huge explosion between the red and blue energies could not kill Stone yet Toby dies when he first encounters the robot.
Maybe I should read the original story because it sounds like it is vastly different from this average movie!
no, I think you've missunderstood what happened at the start of the film.
when the put the red energy into the peacekeeper and it turned on them, they didnt introduce the blue energy to it to cause an explosion, they did a controlled lab explosion, this explosion is meant to have incinerated toby & I assume destroyed the peacekeeper robot, but not the red energy. I assume later in the film the peacekeeper robot we see is a new model.
If it was the same robot from the start, we'd have seen the other drones it had already absorbed, or, if they had removed the things it had absorbed, they would have found the real Toby then.
I was actually wondering why Toby's hat didn't get burned...
I'll be good I swear... I'll never see a movie ever again.
