i've been watching it on Challenge TV in the UK and i haven't seen a winner yet.

Yes, someone did win, but Craig Charles didn't know what they won!

I was watching Takeshi's castle and it had the one where they have a whale(sp?) designed bike and they have to drive around a course without falling off, and those two people fire balls at them. Craig Charles said that in the first series instead of firing balls they fired harpoons and 16 contestants lost their lives, is this true?

I am Spiderman no more...

There have been 5-6 winners including one where Takeshi went out but carried on n got the last contestant (it was one of the parent kid episodes)...the General spotted this however so the contestant won...they usually win money or a car (as stated in Clive James In...Japan, in which he enters Takeshis Castle in the 80's) but the ceremony involves the General handing over a box with a note in it saying what they have won

I saw a winner yesterday.

I was watching it because I actually wanted to see Takeshi Kitano in the early days. But I was shocked to see in the English version they totally cut him out apart from 3 or so seconds at the end.

When someone wins it just cuts off and Craig Charles just messes about for about 10 more seconds and that's it.

Takeshi Kitano is not even mention in the ending credits and the show is named after him!!!

Oh well. So yeah there have been winners.

Someone won LAST NIGHT! It was the father and son special or adult and kid or whatever, there was dispute at the end but Craig said "We have a winner!" and General Lee presented the showdown players with a box wrapped in silver ribbon, Craig said it was their lost teeth and "one left spud" saying the doctor could re-attatch it and dentists re-attatch the teeth. He said "join us again for more Takeshi's Castle when General Lee is in the castle and the Emerald Guards and the General have to get it back" or something.

Also an advert after it said the American version was coming to Challenge TV soon.

I saw someone win ONCE and then they rolled the credits; i never got to see what they won... looked damn happy, mind you.

I read they cut out Takeshi's routines because of the hassle of dubbing

I just came across Takeshi's Castle in the UK which was great because I used to watch it a lot in Germany a few years ago. I can remember watching a few wins but they're relatively rare.
