anyone know if MXC's dialogue is even remotely related to this original show's?
or anyone know where/when/how to see this original series, outside Japan, obviously?

shareI've seen a few subtitled episodes, and while the dubbed dialogue is totally different, it's true that the original contestents participate in the gags and jokes. For instance everybody does one of those "shout outs" before they start the game. The US version replaces them with new shout outs but the original ones are just as random and funny.
Of course a lot of the speech is a bit different, since it's a totally different culture, and also since it's from several decades ago.
I'd really like to get hold of all of the original episodes subtitled. It's great fun dubbed, but would be even better in Japanese :D Oh and i know that the original episodes are in fact a lot longer, and Takeshi appears a lot more in them :)

I've only seen one subtitled episode though, in the second disc of the Volume 3 pack.
