Omar Gooding

So far, he has nailed the part of DH. He has come a long way since Wild and Crazy kids, and his trying to get out of the shadows of his brother Cuba.

With the way this shows been going, I would not be suprised if Omar Gooding gets a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a TV series (Drama). We'll just wait and see.

I couldn't agree more with the above comments. For me, I began seeing his potential in the John Singleton movie, "Baby Boy" but in Playmakers, he's nailed the character of cocky running back Demetrius Harris. His drug scenes are mesmerizing and convincing. Each weeks he gets better and better. Bring on the Golden Globe. That would be fabulous.

I agree that Omar is doing an excellent job on Playmakers and the show and actors should get a lot of award nominations. Omar Gooding is currently working on a movie called "PLAYMAKERS" of New Orleans and it kinda sounds like the same thing as the TV show whats up with that?

I Wonder If That Guy Ever Whiped His Ass With the Wrong Haaaand?
Yes.

reply

Yeah, he's without a doubt the strongest actor on the show, and he does play the part of DH extremely well. I think he should win a Golden Globe as well.

reply

Same here. He HAS come a long way since the Nickelodeon days ;). I also think Russell is deserving of an award for his performance.

You guys are funny...he overacts and the facial expressions he exhibits when trying to look "hard" are comical...Golden Globe??? ....gimme a break.

This show is great, don't get me wrong. But, they won't win any awards except Best New Show (is there an award?) Well my early picks for next year's Golden Globes are:
Drama:
Best Show: 24
Best Actor: Kiefer Sutherland
Best Actress: Edie Falco (although I'd perfer Jennifer Garner)

Comedy:
Best Show: Everybody Loves Raymond
Best Actor: Matt LeBlanc
Best Actress: Patricia Heaten (sp?)

I'm sure I'll be wrong on some of these, but hopefully 24 and Kiefer win at least

"...the facial expressions he exhibits when trying to look "hard" are comical..."

You're killin' me. LOL But it's only funny because it's true. It makes me laugh when actors who are used to talking proper english try to ghettoize their speech and can't pull it off. It's like listening to a foreign actor try to do an american accent but you can hear their real way of talking seeping out around the edges.

It's a dirty job,but I pay clean money for it.
