What Storylines Could They Have Done For Season 2?

AWESOME SERIES. If anything, better the show got cancelled with fans wanting more than being cut long after the show "jumped the shark." But they covered so much in one season, what would have been new and fresh for a second season?

Maybe a few ideas:

Team makes playoffs

Olczyk's child is born, fight continues with mom and attorneys

New character, a two-sport football/baseball player introduced

A gambling scandal

Player stalked by "serial fan"

Guest appearences by real NFL players

Wilbanks considers selling the team

Player dies on the field, wife/family file suit

etc.

Sounds interesting but there's a fundamental problem with doing another season. All these problems won't go away because of the off-season. They'd still be continued and several people wouldn't be there. Coach, DH, Buffalo, Leon, possibly Guerwitcz...

Thanks for the response. No offonse, but I'm not sure I understand the meaning of your post, that "all these problems... would be continued and several people wouldn't be there." I guess my thought is that people leaving is just common with TV shows already. Look at the original Law & Order- still a popular show but all of the people from the first season are gone.

What I basically mean is that season 1 felt so natural. But if they did a season 2, they'd have to add so many new characters that the season would seem focred, I think.

What I meant, from my original post, is that the show could have continued as a hard-hitting, gripping drama like Law & Order (or just like the dramatic show it actually was). Many guest stars could have been featured (although the NFL did not like the show, so players might have been prohibited from going on) and "ripped from the headlines" stories could have been done.

If anything, better that the show went out with great drama than "jumping the shark."

A scandal involving Wilbanks where he needs the help of players he's dogged out like Taylor. Maybe a DUI or caught with a trannie hooker

Wilbanks daughter becoming pregnant by McConnell

Wilbanks moving the team to another city

A younger more talented receiver giving Harris more competition

A more talented QB drafted as a backup, giving McConnell competition not just on the field but with the ladies.

An unknown source arranges for Olczyk's baby mama to have an accident so she has a miscarriage

i thought all of the season 2 ideas were very good and would have been excellent storylines but first things first i will say how season 1 would have continued and see what could have been brought up from that.

when i first finished the season i was like "oh it's over, well that was kind of abrupt but i guess it was the ending they wanted" (this was before going online and finding out the reasons for it's cancellation).

in the next few days i realized several different things i had wanted to see finish in the show that never was. forgive me for not knowing players names so maybe these were mentioned already...

the guy who was hitting on one of the headmaster's daughter was about to start getting involved with her and getting in big time trouble but we didn't get to see it happen.

were we supposed to see the innocent guy who was bought to jail for life get out of jail?

coach announced he was going to coach the team despite his starting to be involved on kimotherapy.

the gay guy was supposed to come back and he didn't :(

shaved head guy never got re-united with his father.

so they'd finish out these unfinished season one things (or leave a thing or 2 for season 2, i think the father thing could have waited for later and it would have made sense they took that long to come back to each other) and then they would have somehow kept producing good ideas i think. it's too bad it went down yet i like how brief and good it was. i bought it at blockbuster for 10 dollars used a couple months back and watched it in 3 days. it might be the most compelling show i ever watched.

one more thing i forgot that i think the shaved headed guy might have actually slept with the black guys wife and yet they say they didn't. that could have been used later.

Show how the Offseason goes, with resigning, free agents rookie draft training camps ect.......

forget the offseason just switch to a different team, you have limitless oppurtunity to create new people. of course some traits would cross over from people of season 1, but have a different perspective on it. plus with the drama the NFL is going through now, it would be really realistic. ESPN prob wont be able to air it, but im kinda suprised that Spike TV didnt pick this up.

The OP has some great storyline ideas. I think a stalker storyline would work well it could be a guy who failed in college football and starts stalking an old teammate who is now pro.

A good idea. McConnell wasn't a great QB. I can see Lyles becoming the HC in a Season 2 (George probably doesn't get his contract renewed), and drafting a new QB in Round 1 because he butted heads with Derek, and because he didn't fit the WCO.

I don't think that would happen. Olczyk didn't want to go down that road.

Another idea for a Season 2 would involve Guard Dog being suspended for PED's (and not being brought back into the league because he would be 34).

This could tie-in to a possible season 3:

1. After taking a season off to get his health right, and to re-build his family relationships, he re-surfaces as HC of a bad team, and he brings in some familiar vets like McConnell, Leon Taylor, and even Guerwitcz (who would be out of the league for a year).

2. This team that George is coaching comes to town to play the Cougars, and a pissed-off Guard Dog (who is mad that he is out for PED's while a homosexual is allowed to play) shows up at the game and attacks Guerwitcz.
