An awful show based on a lame TV series only popular due to a Generation that put mediocrity on a pillar.
"Friends" bored the hell out of me after 15 minutes of one show in Season 1 and "Joey" was as bad as the title. I hear the name "Joey" and I am looking for the kid from down the road not a brain dead 20 something.
You don't like friends. Are you kidding me? Friends is the best thing that is ever shown on TV ever.... It is way better than the three you like.... I guess you just have a weird taste.
If you didnt like Friends then why did you bother watching this?
To me 'Joey' was always unlikely to work. He wasn't a substantial enough character to have a spin off. The characters around him were only mildly amusing, as opposed to 'Frasier' the ultimate benchmark for all spin offs, where the minor characters were all great. 'Joey' wasn't a disaster, but i'm not suprised that it didn't last longer than 2 series.
You know what? Stop arguing over friends, everyone has their own opinion on stuffs. These people who hate "Friends" probably because they haven't got any. Or, they could be ridiculously dull that they don't find the humor in "Friends". Or, even, they are just those people who like Twilight, Justin Bieber... those kind of stuffs. You know what I'm saying? You don't expect much from them that's all.
friends was awful??????are you serius???i thing you have no sense of humor.friends is the best show ever.Arrested development has a tottaly different style, there's no comparison betwween those two.of course friends are funier.best comedy shows at my opinion:1)friends 2)married with children 3)modern family 4)two and a half men 5)the first 2 seasons of big bang theory 6)blackadder.Thats it.Arrested development is funyy but friends is hilarius!!!friends 10 seasons Arrested development 3........THING!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like Friends, but I can understand that some people don't. We all have different tastes and opinions. Friends used to be my favourite sitcom, but I like Frasier and Seinfeld a lot more these days.
as opposed to 'Frasier' the ultimate benchmark for all spin offs, where the minor characters were all great.
Frasier was AWESOME! Every episode made me LOL hard. I agree, every single character in that show is so extremely well written and really likable. The actors did a fantastic job. Frasier is definitely one of my all-time favorite comedy sitcoms. I heart Niles and Daphne the most. They are just too adorable beyond words. <3
As for Friends, it's OK. I liked it up until the point where the characters ended up marrying each other, and all they ever blabbed about is being pregnant and having kids. That's what killed it for me. I never bothered to watch this show though, because when Friends ended up becoming a Soap Opera, I got sick and tired of it, period.
I only came here while browsing Matt's IMDB profile. Then decided to browse the forums to see what people think about it.
My personal favorite sitcoms are:
- Frasier - Will & Grace - Just Shoot Me - Spin City (with Michael J. Fox, NOT Charlie Sheen) - Two and a Half Men - the George Lopez Show - Seinfeld
I still catch Friends every now and then, too. Still brings back good ol' memories. I heart Phoebe and Ross. Especially Ross. he's so adorable!

JUST SHOOT ME... WOW I thought I was the only one that liked that show. I reaaally liked it :D Well, about the idiot that started this thread, apparently he's one of those guys that want to be better than the rest, who considers himself above every single person he knows, thus claiming Friends' success was a result of our mediocre personalities... Nonetheless, he still watched Joey, go figure...
I do like to watch different types of series, I really like Arrested Development (Jason Bateman is awesome), but I do like Friends and sit-coms as The Single Guy, The Nanny, Two and a Half Men, SEINFELD, Frasier, Cheers... that doesn't mean that I can't watch more "intelligent" comedies like Californication, Sports Night, or Six Feet Under.
It's like when people think they're smarter since they read Shakespeare, Hemingway, and Alan Poe, and they avoid and criticize reading books like The Da Vinci Code or Twilight. For me, that's a poser, someone without tolerance and lacking the ability to appreciate every layer of arts in general
I agree. I forced myself many times to watch it and like it but couldn't stay for more than 5-10 minutes. I will die still wondering why people like it so much.
I agree that Joey is an awful show...But Friends awful??? Are you kidding me? Friends is the only show that I've watched again and again millions of times and never get bored of it!
