title song

Can any one tell me who sings the title song for this show.

It is "Watching the Detectives" by Elvis Costello (I'm not sure if it's with or without "The Attractions")

thank you. I thought that voice was familiar

With the Attractions....I had the album back in 77 or 78. Great song!

I think it's from his first album "My Aim Is True".

They get a little crazy with the musical selections for this show, which is a good thing. Last night they dropped in some Radiohead a couple times, I was impressed. The episode I'm referring to is the Wm. McKinley flag episode.

The musical choices they make for the show are part of the reason it's so addicting ^_^ .

You guys LIKE the title song? I've always hated it. Tonight watching the show, I again came up with the opinion that it's one of the worst of all time! Dumb!

Have you listened to the whole song or are you just going by what you hear on the show?

Mr. Grady, you were the caretaker here.

reply

Just by what I hear on the show. Lame.

So the song is "Watching the Detectives" but the show is not "Watching the Detectives", which is on another channel. Odd title choice.

No, the show is History Detectives. To my knowledge there is no such song with that title. Rather than create a new theme song they took an existing song with lyrics that mention "watching the detectives" which fit in with the concept of the show. The song is actually a very popular one by a famous singer. Not lame at all.

Well, maybe I need to hear more of it. It sounds lame because all I ever hear is a whining "Watchin' the detectives...Just like watchin' the detectives..." And that's about it.

And the TV show I was referring to is here:
