Someone sent me here, because supposedly "The Fine art of love" is connected to this movie. If it's true, then the girls where being groomed for a prince.

"The fine art of love" is not connected with this movie. The source material that this movie is a faithful adaptation of was also used by "The fine art of love", but that movie was only loosely "inspired" by the source material to come up with a completely different storyline, which is why neither movie is truly "connected" to the other movie.
