Who would make a good Alfie TODAY?

After seeing Crazy Stupid Love, Ryan Gosling really reminded me of Jude Law in Alfie. I think it's obvious he would be the perfect choice for the role if they made it today or if they did another remake. Gosling also reminds me of [the old] Jude Law who knew he was hot stuff. Now I'm not sure if Law still thinks of himself quite that way.

Yeah but gosling is not british. He's got that charm but it's not the british charm. I'd have to say russel brand would be englands closest.

Benedict Cumberbatch? Maybe a year or two ago. He seems to be everywhere now but I guess the same was true of Jude Law 10 years ago.

I, too, think he'd fit be bill. He's more into taking on dramas and characters with deep inner conflicts, though. Tom Hardy 5 years ago would've been perfection.
