After Mark

It's funny that there is so much on how they both betrayed the king in the most horrific ways of there times. So I wonder how there own marriage would stand up in the eyes of everyone else after she went with Tristan, would they even be allowed to marry....seems they would have been shunned. If they were so proud and Nobel how do they get past what they did. She was no longer a virgin and was married to a very Nobel man. As strong as all say he was if he was faced with having known his wife was married and may have enjoyed the sex with a king. Just how would he have held up.

I think the assumption behind their running away together was that they would go far away and settle somewhere they wouldn't be known as Queen Isolde and her lover, King Mark's nephew. The idea was for them to "disappear" - easy enough in a time where people's faces weren't known all over the place.

That does cover that part of what i was saying but he still has to deal with the other stuff mentioned, I would think even as Noble as he was, a man whom has slept with the woman you love is hard for any man to deal with. I know this is all outside the story given but it does seem to be something they omitted from the film.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Mark, deal with Tristan, knowing Tristan slept with his wife? But he wouldn't have to deal with him, if Tristan and Isolde were both gone! He had no intention of ever seeing them again. Or do you mean dealing with the knowledge of that betrayal, on an emotional level? I don't think the movie omitted that at all: it clearly addressed the fact that Mark was such a good man he was ready to overcome the shock, the betrayal, the disappointment, and to forgive those who had wronged him.

Simply switch to Tristan dealing with Isolde after she has slept with Mark.... After mark releases her.

Still don't get it... the movie did address that: he couldn't deal with it, that's why he didn't leave with her, that's why he went back to fight, and that's why he died.
