GROSSED LESS THAN 3 MILLION!!! Bad movie. STINKER!!

If the Bobby Jones film is such a great movie, why do people avoid it like the bird flu?

I mean, LESS than THREE MILION DOLLARS in gross sales worldwide! IT IS HARD TO DO WORSE THAN THAT!

Everybody says it was BAD but this Bobby Jones mess was REAL bad!

And on top of that, they took the title right off the Titanic Thompson book, TITANIC THOMPSON:STROKE OF GENIUS which came out a few years earlier!

Shouldn't the investors have looked into this before plunking down their hard earned (or inherited) money?

Some people just never learn!

reply

The reason most people avoided it is because most of the movie going public are mindless idiots now days.I myself being a huge fan of the great Bobby Jones went and saw it.I also own it on dvd.I find it very enjoyable. As for the title being taken off of Titanic Thompson:Stroke of Genius maybe the producers of Bobby Jones
:Stroke of Genius payed to use that title and if not so what, its not the first time titles have been used more than once for example there were 2 movies named Gladiator.

Ratpack66:

Nope.

The Bobby Jones producers/heirs didn't pay to take the TITANIC THOMPSON book title.

Like thieves in the night...they just lifted it. Pure and simple.

What a blight on the image of Bobby Jones.

And the thought lingers...what kind of "heirs" did Bob Jones leave behind???

Beng that Stroke of Genius could be applied to different movies there is no reason that should or would have to pay for the title.

Hey, old man, why don't you just get out of the canoe?

You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity.

If you notice, that gross number was for about five weeks. I'm sure the movie has done more than that total.

Frankly, it doesn't look like it was made to be a blockbuster. No explosions. No huge stars. No special effects.

Not sure what your relationship is to Titanic Thompson, but if the author of that book has an issue he or she has actions they can take.
