A Slasher for the kiddies

First off, I love slashers. In a lot of ways this is like a retro 80's slasher. Decent, but typical story, good production values, good acting even a little Halloween-ish music thing going on. And then they go and ruin it. There are like 6 deaths with a little blood and almost no gore, and 2, count `em, 2 shower scenes that show only head & shoulders. Attention Europe: go back and rewatch the films this is a homage to (or take-off on), and get the uncut rentals, not the cut-for-TV versions this time. Then go back and try again, this time with the gore and the T&A. Call us when you're done.

It's a slasherfilm, and for the first 60 minutes there is one death, and no one talks about it! People don't even notice that he is gone! In A Nightmare On Elm Street and Halloween the killings were spread out all across the movie so even do those movies were not slaughters, we had a good killing now and again. I am saying good killing, becouse death scenes play a major role in slasher films. They are an important dramatic point in those movies. This film had two good kills( the decapitation of the father and the milkscene) but the rest were just crap. The only scary scene was the one in the tunnel.

It is a Swedish film and in Sweden violence in movies is highly controversial.
If the movie had the violence you would want to see it could not have been made. Because it would not have been financed.

That's sad. What happened to Sweden? That was the country that gave us films like Thriller: A Cruel Picture and Evil Ed.

The two films you mentioned are exceptions.
A cruel picture was totally banned in Sweden.
Evil Ed was made with an extremely low budget and considered a joke.

In Sweden violence is not accepted in films and in many way looked down on.
For an example in Sweden Darkwing Duck and Power Rangers were cancelled because of violent content.

Horror films and slasher films are not made at all in Sweden with a few exceptions.

The films that are made in Sweden are drama, comedy and crime for tv.
