Methamphetamine/Am I Alone Here?/Didn't This Guy Remind You Of Every Oth

Hello Film Fans,

January 2, 2006

Am I alone here? Didn't John Landis know this? At anytime during the production of the documentary "Slasher"? Isn't this Michael Bennett guy like every other over-user or ABUSER that we've ever met, and there are a lot of his clones out there, at least there are here in Southern California; the same general appearance, the same raspy voice, the same squirming mannerisms, good heart maybe but out of control....unfortunately seemingly, apparantly out of control; the melting pot of both use & abuse of what can be a good thing, if USED sparingly.

P.S....These kind of people I tend to like but I worry about their welfare. I mean where does his road end; somewhere good I hope, and in a nice, reasonably priced & dependable car.

I guess Bennett is a people person, one that has to be in contant contact with people, I guess to be a salesperson, and a good one, you have to really like people, have a lot of energy. I saw the film on IFC, and I missed the beginning, but Landis must have some sort of admiration for the guy or would not bother making a doc about it.

Bennett was sort of portrayed as being an alcoholic, but he said a lot of nice things about his wife and his line" any man who has babies with a woman and leaves her is no man"

yeah, it was pretty damn obvious he was on meth, and i would almost think that his use had to have been apparent to the director. still, is a wonderfully entertaining documentary

I noticed that right away, and I'm surprised the film didn't address it – but I guess I can see why it didn't. This would have had much more substance if they dealt with that substance – and i'd really have a hard time believing he wasn't speeding.
