What letter did Miles write?

Maya references a letter he wrote her in her final voicemail to him. I'm guessing that was a deleted scene?

I have the DVD, and I don't recall any deleted scene where it is featured or mentioned, nor on the commentary track. I mean, we don't exactly need an establishing shot of him sending out a letter, but I did wonder where it was coming from at the time.

It makes more sense taken in consideration with him checking his empty mailbox prior to finding the message Maya left on his machine. His book deal was dead, so it had to be he was waiting for word from her.

I could be wrong as I just finished watching the movie for the first time, but there was a scene of him editing something handwritten, but it was very brief and I couldn't make out what he was writing. I'm pretty sure this scene is after he has the fight with Maya so it was probably a letter along the lines of his phone call, saying how sorry he is and how much he likes her.

Yup. Just watched it.

it was depressing

It wasn't flashy. But depressing? Story is he's getting back on track! (and therefor so can we)

i believe he committed suicide after the final frame of the film

reply

Not before saving a stray dog only to have to shoot it due to rabies.
