A clone of 'The Gospel'?

The plot of this movie sounds almost identical to the recent film "The Gospel". Is this right? What are the differences between the films?

I think its a better movie than the gospel. It has a much better outlook on life and the word of god.

I thought this was 10 times better than the gospel. It was actually funny.

reply

This film was actually made BEFORE gospel.

reply

I was just about to say that. The Gospel is the clone to this.

reply

In no way a clone. This movie is a hundred times better than the forgettable The Gospel.

reply

I have not seen this movie yet.
And will when I can find it.
What I find wonderful is these films were Black produced and made.
Hollywood still can't get us right unless we are hurting each other.
Or some other negative story line.

i just saw the movie and was thinking the same thing as i was watching it ... then realized that this came out first ... "the gospel" just was marketed better ... but if the gospel is a clone to this ... cant think of it ... but surely, isnt this the clone of something else?? neither is original .... or is this just the story of so many people that it seems like i have seen it before?

In my opinion, "Preaching To The Choir" has the same premise as "The Gospel," i.e. redemption and the prodigal son; however, I think this movie is realer, edgier, and to the point. The movie "keeps it real" while still delivering messages about the power of God. It doesn't present this cookie-cutter outlook on the real lives of the people of God.
