was the lady with the freaking travelin brothel??? i couldnt tell who The Mad Hatter was supposed to be just by watching but the trailer said she was...seriourly?? u make the Catepillar badass and eff up the most demented supposedly awesome character??? whata gyp... /end rant
I had thought the Mad Hatter was actually that dwarf-faced gentleman with the black hat who referred to himself as 'Unf'. Maybe that was supposed to be the March Hare or something. Hmm.
I had actually thought from the looks of the trailer before I watched it. Thought it was Whitey. Haha not the red head who owned the brothel, I had thought she had been the Queen. And the dwarf-faced man, as the Rabbit instead. But other than that, I loved the movie.
It's odd, because she certainly seemed like the mad hatter, with her madness and her tea. But the queen's tarts are stolen in the book, not the mad hatter's.
I loved Whitey and the Rastafarian caterpillar, the duchess, the cheshire cat DJ, and tweedle dee and tweedle dum, even the king.
Of course, they are not entirely consistent with the book.
I have to say, I was incredibly pleased by the humanization and modernization (and cohesiveness) of the plot. In many ways it was very true to the book. I was very pleasantly surprised.
