Anyone else agree with Dr. Breen?

So let me get this straight. Breen saved mankind from being curb-stomped by a super advanced inter-dimensional empire and HE is the ENEMY?!

Oh sure, City 17 looks a bit Orwellian, but have you seen the rest of the world? Radioactive goo, zombies, infested beaches... It's his way or the highway (Highway 17 that is). I'll pick his way, thank you very much.

The guarded cities are humanities best chance of surviving the incursion of alien wildlife! Not only has Breen created save-havens for mankind, he has COMBINEd (intentional pun) Earth's forces with our alien overlords'; They're on our side now!

What about interfering with human reproduction? (Breen reads a letter from a 'concerned' citizen on one of his Breen-casts). I actually found myself nodding at his speeches about irresponsible breeding and being slaves of instincts. We have to expand the definition of humanity if we ever want to survive among the meteorological intelligences in distant gas giants and pan-dimensional sentient fungi. Transhumanism all the way, baby!

Go away Alyx! Dr. Breen and I have to discuss the future of mankind. And G-man...who or what is that guy? Why am I doing his bidding?! Is he even human? I know Dr. Breen is.

P.S. Ok, shelling villages with headcrab-filled projectiles seems a little...eccentric, but hey, eggs -> omelet etc.

I think what Breen did was not saving mankind..

Even though his cooperation bought time for a resistance to emerge and repel the invaders at the end, the ultimate salvation of the human race was not the intention of Breen. So that shouldn't count, but i can see your point of view.

What would i do? I would do something similar to what Breen did, but i would do my very best to secretly help my human comrades. I think. Or i would go down in flames and glory, trying to kick an invader's @ss!

How many of you believe in telekinesis? Raise my hands.

Topical given the day:

If you love... the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Breen was an egotistical, megalomaniac. He was on a power trip from oppressing the city and it's people and used that as a way to justify his actions when he had been helping the invaders if anything.
