Weird movie

It's a movie that doesn't have a beginning or an end. It was like a random fragment of somebody's life. It was only Sebastian and Lolita's relationships that became clear in the movie. Everything else is unfinished. But I liked it though I didn't see the culmination point. I didn't really uderstand about that music teacher, don't remember her name, what was she really like?? what did she think of Lolita? she also had some kind of crisis with her husband which wasn't figured out either. And there were several other questions I had that I don't remember. So, anyway, themovie leaves sort of an empty feeling,as if you've received a lot of useful information and it ended up that it doesn't make any sense.

Also, I thought Lolita had a terrible voice. She murdered the Monteverdi. I wasn't sure if this was on purpose or not because people kept telling her how good she was.

The culmination point for everyone came at the end of the evening, after the recital, when they all had a big row about him walking out 3 minutes in and saying that the girl would go far because she was good lookiing. It was a great chain reaction of anger and shame.

i actually loved that fact that all of the plots did not have some dramatic conclusion at the end because that did make it more realistic and true to life.

One major point was that his daughter Lolita felt people were friendly to her as a means of getting close to her father who was important and famous. When she said this in the car to her voice teacher the woman looked uncomfortable because she did some smoozing for her husband, the writer. Lolita added of course you aren't like that not noticing the woman's discomfort. The woman told off Lolita's father at the end and left because she couldn't stand everyone ignoring his rude crass put downs. Her brown nosing husband stayed though.

Lolita did make one important discovery. Her father told her Sebastian was weird because he turned down a job interview he had arranged for him. Sebastian decided to stick to his original plan of working with his friends. Meaning he wasn't running after her father for a job like the others.

but you're missing the whole point of art, which is that it's not real life.

to really go 'real life' just turn the camera on a blank wall and record sounds with shadows passing by, no order at all everything arbitrary. POV of a sofa chair lol

or try some of warhol's "films" if you want realistic minimalism.

yes i do unde4rstand your point, but there's nothing wrong with having a well ordered structured plot, and it's not any less realilstic if you have a well ordered structured plot. that's an err in assumption, to think that. (if i may be so bold)

thanks for listening!
