Cuban accents in this movie

As a native speaker of Spanish, I can very much distinguish between a good Cuban accent and a bad one. Benicio nailed the "Cubanized" accent from an Argentine for Che, and even his mannerisms. I thought Santiago Cabrera, who played Camilo Cienfuegos had the most believable Cuban accent for a non-Cuban actor. Catalina Sandino Moreno and Victor Rasuk were just horrible, I did not buy for one second they were Cuban. Sandino still sounded Colombian and Rasuk couldn't even speak Spanish properly for that kind of role. I think whoever couldn't nail the Cuban accent should've not gotten the role, regardless of their previous accolades in other projects. I am aware different Cuban people have different accents but some actors in this movie just did not sound Cuban, period.

Criticism aside, I was actually happy to see a project of this scope involving so many Latino actors from different nationalities. You had Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Spaniards, Mexicans, and even a Brazilian. Lots of familiar faces and some unfamiliar ones, but I thought it was awesome and I hope they continue to make all-inclusive projects for Latinos of different nationalities to partake.
