Why is Nicole toasting bread in the restaurant? What is the point?
Presumably, the restaurant lets people make their own toast, so they can get the setting they like and it's fresh (think the rolls or mini-loaves of bread you get at some restaurants.)
Plus, she may have been fascinated by using a mechanical toaster to make toast, instead of just tugging her ear to get perfect toast.
