TV cutting scenes

This is one of my favourite movies, and I was a little confused why they cut the scene at the Coffee Bean with Isabel, Maria and Nina when they aired the movie tonight on UK TV. It's a pointless cut, so I don't why they did it.

idk. I didn't see that on tv but I do have it on dvd.

I love how before she was saying to her father how she wants to go to the Coffee Bean with her friends to discuss problems that have no solution and then when she's there she's all 'we're at the Coffee Bean and there IS NO solution.

too cute.

sometimes tv cuts things they think make sense but then leaves in other areas that make NO SENSE at all!

take: the pace maker episode of Golden Girls... they completely cut out the scene where they have to get rid of the microwave because 'it will short out Blanche's pacemaker' because that information is bogus. Sophia is pissed off about no longer being able to eat microwave popcorn. but later on when Blanche is like 'life has no meaning' they keep in Sophia's come back: let's have some popcorn.

complete with the audience wetting themselves over the joke.

tv editors do weird things.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

I know! Glad I found someone else who loves this movie!! I didn't get why they did it! When it was over, I put my DVD on and checked that it was there and I hadn't seen some other version elsewhere. I saw it in the cinema when it came out and I definitely remember it being there, even though I was a child. I don't really get why they took it out for this one TV showing.

Good point with the Golden Girls episode. I love it too, and that was just an annoying cut!

TV cuts are often for time. They need things to fit a specific slot.

I know, but it just irritated me all the same.

They sometimes to cut for censorship but more often than not it's literally to squeeze a movie into a slot.
