16 contestants die?

I was watching Takeshi's castle and it had the one where they have a whale(sp?) designed bike and they have to drive around a course without falling off, and those two people fire balls at them. Craig Charles said that in the first series instead of firing balls they fired harpoons and 16 contestants lost their lives, is this true?

Just a guess, but I think you'll probably find he was joking........

I recently emailed one of the characters who used to be on the show and he said that nobody has ever died on Takeshi's Castle or even been seriously injured. The stuff that Craig Charles makes up is a lot of nonsense.

Craig Charles often will say thing like that, like in Skipping Stones when he say that a contestant breaks their ribs. If they did they wouldn’t be smiling like that do. Plus I’ve seen the event your on about and it looks the safest on the show.

Craig Charles also says that the water is really a drink? Do you believe him?
Craig Charles also says that the mud is actually pig *beep* from a far away farm in southern japan. Do you believe him
Craig Charles also says out of 78 contests 65 complete high rollers. Do you believe him?

Drink is actually a word for a pool of shallow water...
Plus this is death we're talking about so it is a little more serious.
