Who shot the 12 year old?

This was never really explained, could it have been Ledda? It showed him in one of those weird alzheimer "flashbacks" or whatever and it was done the same way. But it might've also been a setup by the baron, which is probably more plausible. Who knows with his memory? What do you guys think?

I figured it was his friend/boss from the beginning that later tried to kill him. Especially since Ledda said that no one would do it. However, the other guy was obligated to finish the job and to kill Ledda as well, since he set the whole thing up and presumably got paid well for it.

I don't think Ledda was doing things out of character because of the alzheimers, he just wasn't clear always on what was going on or had gone on.

The film states very clearly that it was Ledda's operator/friend from Marseilles (the guy who sent him on the mission and with whom Ledda had a meal, early on in the film and told him "our work is never done". It was one of the two detetives who revealed that it was the same bullet that killed the blonde prostitute in the garage as that which killed the child prostitute, Bicke.

Also, recall that when Ledda saw the report of the girl's murder on television, he was initially frightened that he had killed her. However, he asked the blond prostitute if he had been with her all night, and she said that he had.

It was stated by the cops that the bullets found in the girl's body didn't come from Ledda's gun
