Question about the elevator scenes

If it remember correctly, at the beginning of the movie, Yan and Keung were going down the elevator with that guard, there were some shots fired. Was he actually killing Keung? I'm just speculating since you can only see the top down of the elevator going down with what appears to be a couple of bullet holes that show on top of the elevator. And later on movie there was the elevator scene with the same thing that happens. Can someone please clarify what's going on?

There were no shots fired in that first scene. The two were handcuffed together and Keung was telling Yan not to tell their big boss (Sam) about what happened, fearing that Sam would get very mad. Keung wanted to make sure Yan wouldn't say a word to Sam so he kept asking him if he was gonna tell. When the elevator moved, Yan apparently got tired of Keung's bugging words, he said "Enough!" and hit Keung, then we hear Keung shouting "What? You're hitting me right now? How can you hit me?"

The 'bullet holes' you see on top of the elevator in that scene are not what they appear to be. If you forward to the second elevator scene where Lau kills a man, freeze the screen right after all three shots have been fired, look closely, you'd see 6 'holes' there.
