Someone help me please..

Ok so I just finished watching IA 3 and it fantastic. There are just a few problems I have and if someone can please help me it would be great. First of all I watched the movie at like 2am so my brain prolly wasnt fully ready for the complicated plot but I still understood most of it, however pretty much everytime I get done watching a movie I like to get on the net and read reviews of what other people thought and see if they say anything or reveal anything that I might have missed. So for this movie everything I have read pretty much says the same thing. That the last part of the movie is where everything clicks. Like this quote "It takes the film close to 90 minutes before it reveals that the whole story actually has a point. Everything is connected to the events in the past. Only in the last moments of the final act does the film reach its full potential." Anyway thats pretty much the bottom line of what all the reviews I have read say and they dont really give spoilers. So my question is what is it in the last act of the movie that things start to click?? When does it all come together and your able to say "Ahh I get it now" Maybe Im just missing the simplest thing because its like 3am and my brain isnt working right. Or maybe I just couldnt see it at all. Can someone explain to me please??? Thank you and sorry for such a long post

Well I watched the entire movie(also at 3AM) and got pretty confused as to what was going on. Although when it was revealed that the other 2 people Yan ran into on the docks were all working under cover it made more sense to me. So maybe that's the moment people were talking about. I think i need to go back and rewatch t ethier way.

Not both of them were under cover.. the one with glasses was still a bad guy, wasn't it?

No, the guy with the glasses, Yeung (played by Leon Lai) is not a bad guy. And he wasn't undercover. But both Shen and Yan were.

Yeung graduated out of the police academy in the same class as Yan (and of course, same class as Ming). Yeung won some top award for best student in his class because Yan got kicked out due to his ties with his gang family, otherwise Yan was the best student at the academy that year. Yeung was the cop that opened the gate for Yan when they did that flashback scene with Ming/Yeung/Yan's past and present selves were in that police academy scene. Recall that in the end scene with Lee and Shen when they were visiting the gravestones, Yeung was buried next to Yan in the police cemetery because he (along with Shen/Shadow) finally found out that Ming was the mole in the police, and also, recall they did this after Yan's death when they met on the same rooftop where Yan confronted Ming and tries to convince him to surrender.

Whew that was long.
