SPOILERS Different/Alternati ve Ending?

Hi.

I saw the movie when it first came out and

*SPOILER AHEAD*

I recall it ending with a flashback of Ming and Yan at the stereo store but got hold of the box set the other day and in it the movie ended with Ming sitting in the wheelchair after Mary shot him.. then the words Mou gaan dou 3: Trilogy End-something came up.

My question is: did I see a director's cut of some sort? Are there other versions of the movie? Being the box set and everything, I can't say I enjoyed this version, I walked away with a feeling of having enjoyed the original version much more. There was also some other, minor stuff.. which version is the best?

Keaton is Batman. Jack is The Joker. Period.

Thats strange I saw the orignal version(pretty sure), and it ends with a flashback, when Ming meets Yan at the stereo store.

That's exactly what the OP said. He was questioning if the version WITHOUT the flashback is an alternate version, which it is.

Watch The Infernal Affairs Trilogy to clarify everything up.

The version you saw is the Infernal Affairs trilogy 5 hour edit. It starts off with IA 2,then the flashbacks of IA3, then IA, and finally the present events of IA3. It's a chronological version of IA. I have that version.
