extremely noticeable political agenda

I watched all the special features/making-of and there was no word of this --- has this aspect of the film ever been mentioned elsewhere? I find it odd that nobody speaks of the movie's statement, considering it's integral to the film's plot/story --------

At least, on the trivia page of this animation, it mentions the directors actual intention of making the Strings. I quote:

Anders Rønnow Klarlund wanted to make a movie about terrorism and how the United States responded to 9/11. He decided to tell it as a fairy tale, and so "Strings" was born.

I read that bit after seeing the movie, but I never really made the connection. The political parallel which immediately came to mind while I was watching the movie was the Israel/Palestine situation.

Is the political agenda detrimental to the enjoyment of the movie? (I want to see this movie, but I don't like politically preachy movies)

reply

I watched it twice a few years back and have only just discovered, when reading this thread, that there was a political agenda.
