Kazaks warriors ruled by others!

Well, what the hell was that point that the two major roles were played by mexicans who looked to me like the Russian traditional hero Aliosha Popovich (see http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~tales/aa/encyclopedia/encyclopedia_bogatyr.html) rather than like the Khazahs guys??!! I found it ironic that they say at the end something like "Let know everybody that khazahs always will be free" but actually they were conquered by russians only two centures afterwards and their heroes are played by whatever other actors! Did not they find any sensible Khazahs for these roles? Take Borat, for instance :)
