Not an appreciated film

Regrettably, this film got minimal recognition from critics and viewers alike. Its a shame because its a fairly well-acted, well-directed thriller. I usually don't buy into the premise of a Hollywood movie attempting to make a commentary on the complex, esoteric subject of international relations. But this film was the exception. I played along and as far as I'm concerned, it delivered. A shame that so few people saw the worth in this film, but sometimes recognition is not a given. That's life.

Yes I agree. It certainly falls into the "intelligent thriller genre" from my perspective with political opponents jostling for control of an African country's government whilst carrying the burden of shifting ideologies and past and present unaccounted actions. I really appreciated the UN settings which added lustre to the film, though I wonder why at $80 million, it apparently cost so much to film. It's not like there were any great big budget set pieces.
