So, do they get back together?

I didn't get the climax? Are they gonna live together in Africa or they gonna break up?

Well, they were never really "together" to begin with, and the climax of the movie really occurs much before that, in the UN.

The point of the movie isn't really whether or not the two characters get together. However, one of the subplots does revolve around their helping each other move past the losses they have each experienced.

So they are not gonna join together?

yes you have to love any movie that departs from the American Beauty REQUIRED formula of boy chases girl, boy "gets" girl

it will ensure the movie will be a box office flop but it IS brave

No, although there is an obvious attraction between them they went there separate ways in the end.

It is fiction though so of you’re a bit of a romantic you can believe he realised his mistake in letting her go and chased her to the airport and confessed his undying love for her at the boarding gate.. etc etc

You can make up any ending you like.

I wonder though, if he wanted to marry her, would they let her back into US?

reply

It sounded like she was deported because she was judged to be "dangerous", so no she probably would not have been allowed back in under any circumstance.

Years late, But the guy just lost his wife and she was obviously still on his mind. She would have been nothing but a rebound and it would have not lasted. After only a short time I could see him calling her by his dead wife name during lovemaking.

No. It's fiction, and it ends where it ends. If you want to make another movie, start writing where this one left off. But be ready to fend off people like you who want to know what happens after it's over.
