Don't be mad at the black cast...


Be mad that they took the characters out of their original context. I'm an African American trying to break into the filmmaking world, and while I would have probably had a white cast, I would have also set it in the past. To me, Honeymooners was about spotting the similarities between people, all people, regardless of the what era we're in. I don't see race as a big part of the show, but using black characters in that time period would make it a completely different show.


And if I did use a black cast in an updated version, MIKE EPPS WOULD BE NOWHERE NEAR IT.

Don't tell me what I can't do!

The black cast thing never bothered me personally, but I don't think it should've been remade with a white cast or any other cast either.

The Honeymooners was a product of its time. It's still enjoyable today but it isn't something that's easy to remake into a modern day movie and recapture what made it popular.
