How exactly...

Can someone possibly prefer this trash to John Carpenter's 1978 original movie? I know people who do and my eyes roll everytime.

It's like saying that an ice cube taste better than Häagen-Dazs ice cream... if the ice cube had shit inside of it.

It’s nowhere near the same level as the 1970s original but it’s still far superior to most slasher movies of the 2000s. I mean compare Zombie’s Halloween to the remakes of Friday the 13th, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, Fog, Amityville Horror, etc. and one can see it is a much better film than the others of its time.

I liked both.

I don’t prefer this one as the original is excellent and perfect. But I do like the back story we see in this movie at why he is the way he is.

I feel exactly the same way!

Because in this version, we get to see Michaels back story and understand a lot more of where he came from. Thats why its considered better

I know people like that too. I haven't asked them in detail, but I would assume that they just don't care for old movies and think that because something is newer, it has to be better. One of them has ADHD, so maybe there is some truth to that people with ADHD don't like old movies. 🤔
