I really can't believe it's been that long I remember getting excited when it was announced

Same here. I followed every step of the production until the movie finally got released in theaters and I was shocked how different it was from the leaked workprint. and then of course I got excited again when the DC was released on DVD Really fun times :) Same with H2.

I didn't get into horror until the summer of 2008 when I first saw this. But I remember all the talk and hype about this remake back when I was in 7th grade in 2007. Time sure does fly.
