I don't watch anime.
Don't even know anything about it ('cept that I despise those who buy it from Suncoast and make my life difficult!).
Annnyhow, I saw and add for this movie at the begining of my GODZILLA: FINAL WARS vcd I got from Thailand and it looks good.
I know the vox populi says it's awful, but they're usually wrong. It looks sensational, but FX DO look synthetic and it looks like the actual quality of story and narrative, etc. might be dubioud, but whatever.
If I can find a cheap VCD or DVD it might be worth it just to check it out.
Can anyone throw me a link to where I can find such a thing?
I tried all the usual suspects, but the closest I can was

has both the theatrical edition and the ultimate edition for the film, both they are without subs.

Anyone got a link?

Or know when a subtitled VCD/DVD is scheduled?

I got a copy from ebay, Japanese release with english subs, take a look there I saw several copies about the place

I got an excellent all region 2DVD version with English subs from Eday Movies (http://store.edaymovie.com/index.html) on sale for $14! It's usually $21.99, but they might have another sale.

I got a subtitled copy at www.hkdvdstore.com/. The subtitles were a word for word translation. No one had names only the meaning of their names. For example when the actress spoke the name "Amon" the subtitle said "end of days" or when someone said "Akira" the subtitles showed "Autumn Farmland Gentleman". The little boy was named "The Wood Of" and The Butterfly girl was named "Springwood Classmate" and the girlfriend was named "Herding Village Classmate". They would say things like "fond of the day is evil" which makes no sense.

Ultimately, it comes down to "Buyer Beware" and I want my dam money back!
