Terrible! Uwe Boll could have done a better job.

This movie was so incredibly rubbish, it's unbelievable.

It does not follow the plot of the original anime at all; in fact, it tries to go for a more "emo spiderman" approach.

You all must have seen the OAV's, right? Akira had a bad temper from when he was possessed, onwards, he didn't cry, or whine or any of that *beep*

In this movie, Akira is still the same even after posessed by the demon sperm.

I can't understand how this film could be so expensive to make! I swear the scenes are just ripped out of some video game, and they don't even have to pay real wages! The two main actors are teenage pop stars, for christ sake!

I reckon a fan film could have done a better job, let's just hope someone makes one s oon.

Being a fan of Go Nagai's work and a bigger fan of Devilman, This has
to be one the biggest let downs that I have ever had. The special efx
were horrible, a quad could have beaten the pro or antagonist down
with a wink of an eye. I hated this piece of crap. What was the deal
with having a fight scene with Silene that was 3 minutes (if even)
long. I bought the DVD last summer at the San Diego comic convention
and after viewing it when I got home wanted to smash this DVD into
oblivion. Thank Amon that I bought a bootleg, not the commercial
release that costed 15 more bucks. Is the Doom fansite for the movie
or the game?

It's for both.

It's not so much that the CGI was bad, but the method they used to blend it into the enviourments caused me to get a headache. It was hideous.

I agree Casshern was a very well done film. I don't know if a distributer
has ascertained the rights for that film. I watched almost the whole
thing last summer at the S.D. Comic con and plan to get a copy this coming
up con in July.
The cast of the film probably don't have to worry much as they are pretty
and usually they beautiful have less struggle than the mediocre or ugly.
Unless they are really talented or have exceptional intelligence.
Anyways, I kind of knew the film wouldn't be all that good. There needs to
be a well rounded script that balances out the story line of the manga.
Budget is another issue, you don't usually see great efx in films from
Nippon, except again I was impressed with Cashern.

the casshern anime was huge in the japan, 70s/80s esque i think, theres lil reminders of it in the live action and the director talks about his inspiration for his film on the dvd etc etc. That said, casshern wasnt that great a film either, tbh i bought the movie cause am into HK cimena, (ok so its not HK but what the hell) and the dvd was pretty and cheap. I thought the CGI blending in that wasnt too great as well, but considering the script was solid and the entire movie was shot on green screen you can let it go, in Devilman however, they just didnt even try to make things look right. In fact it was almost as if they took the michael mann approach "lets make it BIG and PRETTY but i got no skills so the movie will suck" but even then meh! God am so dissappointed lol!

I disagree that Uwe Boll could've done better, at least this somewhat resembles its source inspiration unlike his mindless dreck.

It would've been good for an amateur Devilman fan film, but I expected a lot more from a film with some sort of budget. Miike's 'Tennen Shoujo Man Next' (which also has the girl who plays Miki in this) with all its made for tv cheapness blows this away. Yes, the CGI and live action integration was bad. The big final battle was the most ridiculous overblown CGI mess I've seen since the work done by Centro Digital for the climax of 'Stormriders'. Still not really much worse than the boring and overrated 'Dragon Head'. I'd much rather watch the anime OAV 'Amon: Devilman Mokushiroku' again. For live action movies of this type I'd much rather watch Keita Amemiya's much more entertaining films (Zeiram, Zeiram 2, Hakaider, even Kamen Rider ZO).

4/10 and I'm being way too nice, probably more like a 2/10.
