everyone was saying Casshern was a peice of crap when it came out...all i read was bad reviews,then i saw it...and i was amazed...not only is it the best sci-fi movie of all time..it was definitly one of the best movies of that year......
that being said...is devilman...really that bad?
and who is the hot girl in the movie?
sharewow! Casshern WAS a piece of crap! I went into that with NO expectations, therefore open to just about anything... but, sheesh, what a gawdawful film. acting and direction was robotic at best, and the overall story was aimed at 12 year olds! no thanks!

get the *beep* out of here! Casshern was ill. I watched the originals when I was a git. The movie kicked ass. Everyone I showed it to said it was awesome. The only thing is...well...it was too damn long!

Devilman was a piece of C-R-A-P!!! i was overwhelmingly disappointed. the movie looked like a crappy game cinematic with extremely bad acting to boot. it shyed away from the anime basis so far that it made no freakin sense!!! if you like the character Devilman then stick to the anime where he's better represented.
shareCasshern had it's moments, and visually it was absolutely fantastic at times, but the story was so bad you'd think it was ad-libbed.
Devilman on the other hand has no redeeming features whatsoever :-(
Devilman wasn't that bad. I don't really go by what other people say about a film, I still watch it and make my own mind up.
In my opinion Devilman was perfect. The effects were campy, but what can you expect from a movie that was a comic and cartoon beforehand? This movie can't be taken seriously and should be watched as a "fun" movie. It's entertaining, action packed and has some great effects.

everybody has their own opinion but if you want to give this movie a chance,
just go in with REALLY, REALLY low expectations.
"Casshern" was damned good. As a fan of the original series, from when I was a boy, I loved every minute of the film version, so far I've enjoyed all of the Japanese live-action adaptations of the old Tatsunoko serials.
"Devilman", however, is just an extremely weak adaptation of a good story with some terrible pacing and even less-than-budget-appropriate effects... truly ruined one of my favorite comics of all time...
They should have given it to Miike.
