Last shot?

Hi,

Remember the last scene when Arsène Lupin foils Joséphine's plan to assassinate the Austrian emperor by throwing the bomb into the air?
Well, the very last moment of the movie is when the camera is filming something on the ground. Some sort of brooch, I don't know. What is it? Definitely something shown earlier in the movie, but as I saw it in two parts, I guess I'm just missing the point.
I just read this board, but couldn't find an answer...Can someone enligthen me?

hmm yeah the last scene is kind of blury. i'll try to give you an explanation but could be stupid. eniuei here goes. as i recall ferdinand's murder meant the start of first world war. in fact was just a pretext but that's another story.
some say that the murder was premedited by the masons. and that brooch (could be a small rose) can be a mason sign. so maybe the directors wanted to link ferdinand's death to masons' society.

i'm wanting for another explanation 2!
cheers!

It is a crushed flower, a lupin. Kind of like a calling card.

reply

Arsène Lupin was wearing it in the buttonhole of his jacket lapel.

reply

Yeah, I thought it signified his death.

reply

It's a reference back to the opening shot, where his mother picks up a lupin.

So, who do you think his mother was? Hehe ....
