I'd like to know myself...I'm guessing it's her deadpan and monotonous acting. I really loved Gloria Ruben on ER, she was amazing, but 1-800 Missing is a bad match for her acting. She shows no emotion, the tone of her voice never changes, it's bad.

The real question is why would a Hollywood movie star like Vivica A Fox be on such a small American cable show? It must be for the money.

reply

Viveca A Fox is the producer of the show. I love her in it. Kind of like her Kill Bill character. She livens the show up. I agree with the person who talked about Miss Ruben and her one note performance. And Viveca A Fox knows it is hard to find a job in Hollywood as a star of a movie if you are a women over 35 and if you are African American women you chances are real bad. Unless you are someone like Halle Berry who I am sure in a few years will have a hard time too.
She has her own show and she is kicking butt with her high heels on. Who can ask for more. She looks like she is having a ball. Hey whatever happened to the star of Whats Love Got To Do With It? She got a Oscar nomination! I know where her husband is at though. L&O CI! I bet she rather be kicking butt on her own TV show too. Lifetime is a very large American cable station btw.

She left the show so she could explore more things. Like her music career and/or her acting career. Remember when her character was offered a job in San Francisco? Her character took that job.

I read in TV guide that she wasn't happy with the show. that's why she is gone but HEY I liked her and the show in it's first season.
