Did anyone know why the real killer can't blackmail them when the mobster was live?Did the mobster know he was the real killer? How come he know? If he didn't know,why can't the killer just blackmail both of them? why wait till the mobster die? I can never figure that out,or was it a bug?

you answered the wrong question -- OP was talking about the butler, the real killer, cannot blackmail the two comics while the gangster is alive --- Why b/c the two comics could just go to the gangster and say Butler is going to f'up the hotel deal with his blackmail, please kill butler
