Wow! Spent two years in a can and never OFFICIALY RELEASED!? What could anyone expect from the WB producer Elie Samaha the man who gave the world such comedy classics as Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj or how wonderful Get Carter looked raped of content. Oh and at some point he produced Battlefield Earth! Now we have a PRODUCER WITH POWER! You just know he's invited to all those Hollywood star, scientology dinner parties don't you. Talking about Body Thetans and flicking cigar ash at new born puppies no doubt. No, sorry made that bit up... flicking new born PUPPIES onto cigar ash!
Either way, from the official reports above, Samaha's 'Franchise Pictures' isn’t looking rosy in all this. So with a new production / distribution company for The Wendell Baker Story, new promotions... It's looking pretty good. I can also see how they might have ironed out a few structural creases that were present on the previous 'UNOFFICIAL' release version! This film really has potential for being a classic.
