Most Awesomely Underrated Movie

Never heard of this movie until Netflix recommended it for me. Saw all my fav actors in it, saw it last night, I LOVE IT!!! It's so funny and has such a good message, I love how he gets real buddy buddy with the elders from Shady Grove!

I don't understand how this is a bad movie.

Not bad I thought. gave it a 7. Its just a mostly likeable movie I thought, theres a couple parts that threw me off but overall it was good. not great but I think it should be rated higher on IMDB than it is.

i liked it :D

I thought it was what it was. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but i figured it'd be a relatively low key, Wilson brother movie, with a lot of subtle humor that alot of people wouldn't pick up on. Will Ferrell's cameo was hilarious, and the old people were great.

I was bored to tears after 20 mins and stopped watching...So, so, Ohhhh soooo borrring!

Now we know why it was in the can for 2 years....

Yep, I have to add my two cents here and also say how much I loved this film. Intelligent and quirky comedies (not to mention with some nice themes/messages that aren't shoved down your throat) don't come along often. For the people who didn't find it funny, thats because its subtle humour people! - You probably didn't find Fargo funny either.

Fav scene would have to be when the two old guys (jeez Harry Stanton is looking olllld...) are macking on the girls in the grocery store. Gold.

well I can see why you liked it; you used the word "awesomely".

I loved this movie as well and I don't understand why it's been slammed by the critics. Richard Roeper said it was the worst movie of the year. Luke and Owen Wilson are suberp. Seymore Cassell and Harry Dean Stanton are amazing especially when they're trying to pick up those young ladies at the general store. It's a heartwarming story about redemption and friendship and kinda had the same tone as Little Miss Sunshine. I'm still thrown aback from all the negative criticism!

I agree. I thought it was a great movie. I had never even heard of it before. I don't even know when (if ever) it was in theaters. I came across it when I was searching Luke Wilson movies on netflix (because I just adore hime!!)
I really liked the story line. I liked how good things ended up happening to Wendell, and he deserved it. He was a good person who did care about helping people (despite the illegal ways of going about it, unfortunately).

I really loved the friendship and camaradery (sp?) with Harry Dean Stanton, Seymour Cassell and how Wendell fit into their relationship/friendship.

I just loved Andrew Wilson on the commentary. He was so hot!! Where has he been hiding?? I was not even aware there was another Wilson boy. What a great-looking family!! How dreamy!

However, that being said, I did NOT like the scene in the restroom with the little boy and the boy's dad. I thought that was unneccessary and lent absolutely NOTHING to the story line. It was just a stupid joke thrown in. What was the point?? That was somewhat of a cheapshot, in my opinion.
