Is this a remake of Beverlyhills Cop?

Cos my dad says it is and I say it isn't.

it's a cheap shot attempt at rehashing Beverly Hills Cop! I watched 10 minutes and within that time it had some many elements that were in that movie...what a joke!

reply

Eddie Murphy but he aint and never will be. The guy had many elements in this film where he tried to copy Murphy's role in the classic Beverly Hills Cop.

Remember the part where the school principal had Cannon in his office and Cannon tried to say "This is the nicest office I have ever been..." before the principal cut him off? I was glad that principal cut him off midsentence.

If you know anything about Cannon, the guy really likes Eddie Murphy and on many of his acting outings he has tried to parody Murphy.

In some ways, Underclassmen is a Beverly Hills Cop ripoff.

No it ain't. The storylines are two different story lines.

"I'd be very happy to be myself if I could remember who I am. Who am I?"

THE FILM STARTS THE SAME WAY AS BHCI, I was hal expecting him to say, "nay that aint me, I'm from buffolo"

"...I'm a contradiction"

reply

Nah, it doesn't start the same way, because Eddie Murphy never spoke Spanish with anyone and he didn't take off after anyone in an ATV or blow up a truck. There are similarities, but you can blame the writers of the story for that. Nick Cannon's acting ability has nothing to do with the similarities between this movie and "Beverly Hills Cop." I like both movies. End of story.

"I'd be very happy to be myself if I could remember who I am. Who am I?"

ok so it wasnt "the same scene", but the words "homage" and "inspired by" cant be discounted

"...I'm a contradiction"

it seems to be in the spirit of BHC, but it's not a direct remake.

Juno MacGuff: I named my guitar "Roosevelt"-not Ted, Franklin. You know, the cute one, with polio.
