How long to win campaign game? What faction is best?

What is the quickest you have won the game on campaign mode? What faction did you do it with?

I found the Brutii (green Romans) are the best for that. I did it by 218 B.C. They can make the most money and its about army size, not necessarily quality. I also find the Greeks easy to defeat and they leave you with the best cities that are close together. The Julii are the hardest since they have the tough Gauls with the poor cities. The Scipii are tough but only if you take on Carthage and try to conquer via the deserts of Africa. Takes too long with little reward. I can do it with the Scipii but I have to swing east to Crete and get to Greece before the Brutii............

What other factions work well?

Never counted the time. Long, I guess.
As for favorite factions (House of Julius aside) – Seleucid Empire and German Barbarians hands down.
The only military weakness of Seleucid is a lack of decent archers (and distant style fighting warriors, actually). But the rest… wow! Armored Elephants (VERY expensive, yes), cataphracts cavalary, silvershiled pikemen (best phalanx in the game, second only to Spartan variant, I guess) and silvershiled legionnaires. Seleucid Empire has a very rough start though – Egypst as a neighbor.

As for Germans – well, they are simply versatile and carry a strong punch. Gothic Cavalary (great “horsmen” unit), powerfull warband archers (second only to Gallic foresters archers and pharaoh archers), cheap and tough phalanx unit and axemen. Effective!

All ROman factions are easy to win fast. All you need to do with the Gauls is kill the general and the whole army routs.

Seleucid Empire sucks early game and they're in a bad position. Late game, yeah they're good and they can steam roll but its not exactly a faction you want to use to rush. Carthage is also very good early on since they have cheap but powerful cavalry. Greece has some of the best infantry; its not hard to dominate with them early on.

I beat my fastest campaign at around 220-210 BC...im not too sure cause I haven't played for a few years.

Multiplayer has me captivated though. I didn't bother to try it until a week ago because I finally got a good internet connection. Anyone wanna go?
