Wonderful movie -- did catch a flaw, though

As a long-time resident of North Carolina (17 years and counting), I must add that we do not require front license plates on our cars. If you'll remember, all the cars in Malissa's (fictitious) home town of Sternboro had front tags, which was incorrect. It didn't surprise me that there is no Sternboro; however, the zip code given on Malissa's package was one for Chapel Hill. I'd guess the "North Carolina" scenes were shot in Vermont, since some of the landscape is similar.

This was a great movie, though. It reminded me a lot of Magnolia, only on a lesser scale in terms of the ensemble actors, and I think that was one thing that made it worth remembering. I don't think this movie would have been half as interesting if the cast had all been from the so-called A-list. I enjoyed all the performances and thought everyone was well-suited to their role. In addition to her character, I also loved Jill Sobule's music!

All in all I thought this was a wonderful movie.

The trivia page indicates it was filmed mostly in Vermont. I'm from Raleigh - had missed that.

Normally indie movies like this feel slow to me, but this one grows on you. The only storyline I don't care for is the nutbar dancing with a blow-up doll :)
