Evil? (Spoilers)

Was Tim's unwillingness to tell anyone that his brother was both depressed *and* had a gun an act of evil?

I realize Tim may not have been able, under the circumstances, to help Matt by himself ... but for chrissakes he couldn't just *tell* his parents that Matt had a gun that very night?

That was a shocking revelation to me, made lose all sympathy for Tim and his travails.

Actually I agree with you about *Matt* not helping Tim himself. That was perfectly understandable.

But not saying anything to his folks about the gun...?

That's where I get off.

Matt deserved killing himself.

I think that Tim just wasn't strong enough to reach out and help Matt after he'd treated him so viciously. I felt that Tim really didn't think that he'd do it since he was panicked when he found the door locked. After Matt killed himself Tim felt responsible so he kept the fact to himself. I think that one of the biggest reasons he wanted everyone to get back to normal was because he wanted to forget what he knew. It does take a "hero" of some sort to reach out to someone that lives to make your life a living hell. I think Tim would have told his parents if he really thought Matt was going to do it.
