I want my 95 minutes back...

Some friends and I watched this last Saturday night, we we're STILL irritated.

No plot. No dialogue. No acting. No special effects. No action. No drama. No screaming. No laughing. No value. No kidding!

I loved the sugar-snorting scene - Co-caine? or Pure Cane?

Basically the film was a bunch of ugly clowns chowing down on "victims" like Sally Struthers in a McDonald's.

I say, "victims", because the morons made no attempts to run or defend themselves.

The security guard was felled by a balsa-wood door frame that he was unable to lift off himself, but which moved up and down every time he breathed. So he lays there, barely even whimpering, as a clown approaches and "chops" his arm off and starts noshing. Mind you, the security guard still doesn't scream, but he DOES whimper some more.

There are some great scenes of people standing still, looking around. One must never underestimate the value of standing directly under a light in a dark room or hallway and not moving a muscle while there are killer clowns shuffling about.

I did notice that while the clowns managed to move faster than a speeding butterfly, the people still managed to get caught. Darwinism? Since it supposedly took place in Florida, perhaps they were frozen in place, unable to figure out the voting cards, and so were easy pickings?

There is also borrowed footage of a hurricane, which is repeated at 60 second intervals, just in case anyone forgot there's a big-ass storm going on outside.

I suppose this is meant to show why no one runs away, but if I realized I was in this film, I would certainly fling myself into the storm with all due haste.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give this movie the rating of "If I ever meet the producer, I will pummell him severely about the head and shoulders".

I want my 30 seconds back. Honestly, after 30 seconds I knew this movie deserved a one. Any no-name movie with that crappy worse-then-porn look doesn't even deserve my time. 1 out of 10. Or, like you said, the "pummel" rating.

"Inside the dusters there were 3 men"..."So?"....."Inside the men there were 3 bullets" - d{^_^}b

you know a zombie clown movie is bad whenever a person with a phobia of clowns isn't scared

this needs to be a review on the front page to warn others. I wish I had read the above review before I sat down to watch this piece of caca!

I just want to know if you see much of Debbie Rochon naked? Let me know please and I'll squander 95 minutes (less with fast forwarding). Thanks

reply

debbie rochon does not get naked. she's fully clothed throughout, wearing a large oversized sweater to boot.

i agree with all that's been said about this movie. one thing some reviewers forgot to mention was the fact that these clowns have been under water for like 50 years or so, emerge into a giant rain storm/hurricane, break into the victim's houses.... and are bone dry. they are STRIKINGLY OBVIOUSLY dry. and none of their wardrobe has been distressed one iota. it all looks like it was made 6 months ago.

great premise! horribly executed.

i actually watched this movie while wasted at 4am and didn't even find it entertaining then.
we decided to read Dr. Suess books instead.

I just have to say that the original post written by void-7 is one of the best things I've ever read on imdb. I agree completely. I had to start fast forwarding this movie just to get the people moving at semi-regular speed. They wasted some serious film with this one. And what was with them telling us the time in the beginning of the movie? There never became purpose for it. Like it said on the bottom of the screen "3:oo pm" and then the next scene comes and it's "3:05 pm". And that nonsense continues for like the first 20 minutes of the film. Ummm... ok? I get it, time is moving just like in real life.

I watch all films with the captioning on (noisy household) and when the security guards arm was chopped off it read "no audio". This was an acceptable film device, but the rest of the movie had no screaming or emoting from the actors at all! Clown corpses are hunting you down and everyone is gasping and panting as if they filmed this movie in a nursery school during nap time.

To be fair, the captioning did read "screaming" when they cut away from the first murder to the stock storm clips. But the wind was so loud I couldn't be sure I heard anything.

And what was up with the ending? To right a wrong that has lasted 50 years they think they can pay homage to the dead by making signs constructed with tag board and Sharpie marker? Two staples held them to the sticks, and considering the devastation the wind was kicking up I don't think they would have lasted more than, oh say, 1/10th of a second in the storm. Maybe that's why the clowns came back...

First off, I think the film did amazing things with the lack of speaking roles and banal dialogue so often filling bad films. It was very well crafted and there was an underlying creepiness that worked on action elements alone.Watching a film requires suspending belief and entering the world of the filmmaker. It requires a playful intelligence. If you're looking for FX and explosions go to the dull redundant Hollywood trash thats out there. To me, this film works and has a subtle irony and sense of fun that is original. I salute the creativity of the filmakers. Bravo ( I have a feature out worldwide so I must know something!)
