Caresse sur l'océan, lyrics meaning

I would like know a bit about this lyric.
I traslate to spanish, and I saw a very beautiful poem, but I don´t know if this is only poetry or it has another meaning.
Maybe the lyrics has a special context that I don´t know.
For example, what about "the castle in Spain"..???

Has this lyric some ecologics meaning...?
Some body know about the origin of this song..?

wowooooo...a lot of doubt.

Thanks...!!!

Caresse sur l'océan

Porte l'oiseau si léger
Revenant des terres enneigées
Air éphémère de l'hiver
Au loin ton écho s'éloigne
Châteaux en Espagne
Vire au vent tournoie déploie tes ailes
Dans l'aube grise du levant
Trouve un chemin vers l'arc-en-ciel
Se découvrira le printemps

Caresse sur l'océan
Pose l'oiseau si léger
Sur la pierre d'une île immergée
Air éphémère de l'hiver
Enfin ton souffle s'éloigne
Loin dans les montagnes
Vire au vent tournoie déploie tes ailes
Dans l'aube grise du levant
Trouve un chemin vers l'arc-en-ciel
Se découvrira le printemps
Calme sur l'océan.

Its very beautiful...so much so that I dont think I could do the lyrics justice in English. This is a song that is meant to be sang in french.

I agree, in general the poems are only beautiful in their own original language.

I understand de words, but I want to know what is the matter or the mensage behind the words.

Specially the sentece about the Castel in Spain.

" Castle in Spain" in french it is like a little paradise, something lovely, like a dream . Something you wish all your life and will never have for yourself.

Hablo español pero voy a escribirlo en Ingles, I think they don't like foreign language on their board.
Don't forget we have a common border with Spain, and a spanish tradition about literature and music. Por ejemplo : el Bolero de Ravel etc ...
your second question : it is pure poetry, with no special meaning , with an ocean and birds the message could be : Freedom ! What else isn'it ?
With my best regards from France Amigo !

Hola Helaine...!!
Muchas gracias por tu explicación...!!!

I konw this poem is really beautifull, but a poem is very diffucult to traslate and very often some part of the beauty is lost in the way.

We are singing (with our choir) this song and I wanted to know exactly the meaning.

Merci beaucoup ...!!

It's about a bird struggling in winter that is being carried away by a sweet breeze (caresse sur l'océan) towards a warmer place. I don't know whether it talks about finding a way towards happiness or death ...

The text says "pose l'oiseau si léger sur la pierre d'une île immergée" meaning land the bird on the stone of an immersed island, which is of course impossible. This impression is also reinforced by the castles in Spain (châteaux en Espagne). As Helaine said, this expression refers to something you strive for but will never get. Plus, the song ends with "calme sur l'océan", which means that the ocean gets quiet. So I think the little bird dies in the end ...

Or just the importance of escape. The lyrics were as beautiful as the music, which seemed to be woven with melancholy throughout.
Movement ends, intent continues;
Intent ends, spirit continues
