Katie Holmes is AWFUL

I knew when I saw her in the trailer that she was going to ruin this movie for me, and I was right. Every time she appeared on screen it ripped me right out of the movie. One of the worst miscasts I've ever seen in a movie. Her acting was downright terrible--most of the time you could tell she was just reciting lines! Truly awful. I literally rolled my eyes that we were supposed to believe she was an intelligent district attorney. Sure, Jan. And all the "profound" dialogue coming from her? Spare me the bullshit. I can't stand that droopy, askew face of hers either. The fuck was the casting director thinking!?

reply

Have to say she played the role better than Maggie Gyllenhhal did in the Dark Knight

reply

Agreed.

reply

The critics tend to be very hard on pretty girls.

reply

She was nominated for a Razzie.

reply

With no chance of winning and is among the worst razzie nominations in history.

reply

Anything I've ever seen her in I either don't like her character at all or I don't care for Katie Holmes there's something about I can't put my finger on, it maybe a superficial thing as you said droopy face.

reply

No, Maggie Gyllenhaal was AWFUL:

Batman's love interest is only supposed to be eye candy.
Katie Holmes fulfills that role perfectly. So did Anne Hathaway.
Gyllenhaal's dull face does not.

reply

What universe are you typing from where Katie Holmes and Anne Hathaway are eye candy??

reply

In the universe of heterosexuality

reply

I AM NOT A HOLMES FAN...I ALSO THINK SHE IS A DEAD SPOT IN THE BATMAN BEGINS MOVIE...I NEVER WATCHED THE DAWSON AND I DONT SEEK OUT ANY OF HER WORK...THAT SAID...SHE WAS ADORABLE,LIKABLE AND VERY GOOD IN "GO","PIECES OF APRIL" AND STANDS OUT IN A GOOD WAY IN THAT CRAPPY "MAD MONEY" FLICK.

reply

Watch her in Disturbing Behavior.

reply

HOT AS FUCK...MOVIE IS BORDERLINE TRASH BUT SHE MAKES THE WHOLE THING REWATCHABLE.

reply

Nolan has a poor eye for casting women.

reply

"I'm a Gotham City District Attorney!" she said with all the gravitas and believability of a twelve year old girl saying she's the Secret Clubhouse Queen and you have to do what she tells you...

Yeah, it was hard to buy Holmes here. Generally, I actually prefer Batman Begins to The Dark Knight, but between Ledger's brilliant performance and Holmes' woeful miscasting, it's more of a toss-up.

reply

She's like one of those actresses where anything she's in people don't like her character at all or just don't care about her.

reply

Did people like her in Dawson's Creek? I never saw it, but that was her breakout role and I'm wondering if that created some kind of good-will-wave that she's been coasting on.

reply

Think anything she's done outside of Dawson's Creek people don't give a crap about her, maybe she's too associate with Dawson's Creek and her marriage to Tom Cruise that it distracts and takes away.

reply

Maybe it's something superficial like her droopy face or she sounds like Brittany Spears.

So when you put her this role, this is the female lead and object of Batman's affectation and your suppose to care about their relationship, you don't get it with Katie Holmes it feels like an actress playing a thankless uninteresting role.

That satin blouse though...
