Rocco barred from The Restaurant

According to what I read in the NY Daily News several days ago, Rocco has been barred from Rocco's. According to statements by Jeffrey Chodorow, ever since the "dueling lawsuits" were filed, he claims that Rocco has only shown up at Rocco's to take food, cause disharmony among the staff, and be confrontational. I think the word "assault" was mentioned somewhere. Rocco attempted to do a photo shoot at the restaurant in connection with his upcoming book, and was denied access to Rocco's.

A judge had to give him permission to do the shoot, but told him to stay away from Rocco's unless he had prior approval from a judge to be on the premises.

And so it goes...

Just a quick note for those who haven't heard: Rocco DiSpirito has lost his original job (which he went back to after Rocco's 22nd St. closed), as chef at Union Pacific...He says he now intends to pursue "other opportunities", which, from what I can see, involves mainly plugging his line of cookware on QVC.

It's really sad, but the NYC chefs I know laugh whenever his name is mentioned. Usually when someone is down people rally toward them with nice things to say, but in this case the total opposite is true. I don't think it is from jealously either - just from watching someone throw away an opportunity. My brother is a chef - and if someone gave him a restaurant with his name on everything you'd never get him out of that kitchen except to shower and sleep!

Hahahaha. Plugging his line of cookware on QVC, what a loser!
